The primary purpose of the Cosmetology Course is to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, techniques, safety judgments, proper work habits, and professionalism necessary to obtain an entry-level position in cosmetology or related career field. The cosmetology program is based on the state cosmetology academic standards and indicators.
Cosmetology is a 2-year program that starts in your junior year. This program may require after school attendance. You must pass 2 state board tests to become licensed.

Program Courses

Cosmetology 1
Hairdressing, thermal curling, and long hair design.
Student must be in the 11th Grade to enroll in Cosmetology 1 and must meet both grade and attendance requirements to advance to each additional course.

Cosmetology 2
Hair cutting, manicure, pedicure, extensions, and wiggery.
Pass Cosmetology 1 with a minimum of 75 and minimum 250 clock hours.

Cosmetology 3
Hair coloring, hair relaxing, facials, and facial makeup.
Pass Cosmetology 2 with a minimum of 75 and minimum 500 clock hours.

Cosmetology 4
Gel and acrylics nails.
Pass Cosmetology 3 with a minimum of 75 and minimum of 750 clock hours. Completion requires 1000 clock hours.
